What is the 10/40?

Most of the world’s megacities are in the developing world, especially Asia. Ninety percent of unreached peoples live in the 10/40 Window, which is 10° - 40° North of the equator, stretching from East Asia to West Africa. As urbanization is a major demographic trend in the developing world, urban outreach in the 10/40 Window is the great challenge of the 21st century.

Professionals, intellectuals and business people are among the most unreached in the 10/40 Window countries. The urban elite are easily overlooked because they are perceived as a privileged group. They are also the hardest to reach in any culture. But they are the gateway people groups. They shape values, set social trends, and influence cultural paradigms. Students who are currently studying at the university level are among the urban elite. They will one day graduate and be pivotal members of this privileged group - apprentices who are gearing up to become influential leaders in their own countries.

So what?

At Ten40Connect, we desire to proclaim Christ by exemplifying His love through international development in the professional and educational services that we offer. We believe that it takes a fellow professional, educator, student and/or business-person to speak the language, lend a hand, be a friend, and build a bridge in reaching their counterparts in the 10/40 Window.
