Breaking it Down
- First, you will have a few days of training and orientation
on-site. You will get to bond with like-minded college and
young adult team members from all over North America.
- Next, your team will facilitate three weeks of conversational
English practice with junior high and high school students.
- Using a user-friendly curriculum that includes games,
activities, and lesson plans with topics ranging from food to family
values, American holidays and hobbies, to personal dreams
and aspirations.
- In the process, you will learn about the economic and
social life of a small city in Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia.
You will also begin to understand what it means to be Muslim.
- In the afternoons, you will have opportunity to hang out
with the local students, go on outings, visit the
country's capital as well as
a village, and maybe even some of the students’ homes.
- Following your time in Central/West Asia, you and your
team will get a chance to debrief with one another about
your amazing experiences and all the lessons God has taught
you during the mission.
